High Bush Cranberry

Found across North America, the high bush cranberry is well adapted to a range of conditions. In the fall its white flowers form bright red berries that can be an important winter food source for birds. Although not a true cranberry, the fruit are edible by humans and rich vitamin C, although the flavor can be very bitter.
